Artwork Highlight

Midsummer's Night
Soft coloured lake with part of the shore in the distance. Three water nymphs covered in a sheer fabric playing in the lake surrounded by magical light.

The news about generative AI “Art” improved accuracy skills is flooding my social media and the internet in general right now. I wanted to take a moment to address this topic. I do not view generative AI “art” as art. I think it destroys the creative aspect of art, which is fundamental. The process of creating something has been a part of humanity since the very beginning. It keeps our curiosity alive. It helps us grow and understand. It doesn’t matter if it is an artwork, a movie, or a new recipe. Creation and curiosity are needed in medicine, construction, transportation and DIY projects.
For many of us, art is a way to express our thoughts, emotions, our passions or to process events (both good and bad) in our lives. I believe that generative AI “art” destroys that. There are other sides to this issue that I have not brought up here, and maybe I will make a longer post about this another time.

I have not, and will not, use generative AI “art” in my process.
